Pilates is recommended by health professionals to improve strength and flexibility. It can reduce lower back pain and improve posture by strengthening the muscles that support the spine.
Mindful Pilates does not require the “no pain no gain” attitude. It asks you to be attentive to what is going on in your body and to respond to it in an intelligent way, suitable for the body you have got. To enable you to do so, it requires a highly skilled teacher that is able to work with what she sees and to give instructions accordingly. Mindful Pilates allows variation of movements, freedom of thought and it will look for safety and effectiveness and functionality in daily life. Enjoyment is also part of the package.
