The yoga / mindful movement part of the retreat will be led by Helen Stephenson, who has spent a life time dedicated to the practice and study of yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, meditation and counselling. Helen has been teaching yoga at Gaia House for over ten years and is also a level 3 mindfulness teacher and is qualified as a trainer of mindfulness teachers. Helen is part of the team at Mindfulness:MK.

The mindfulness part of the retreat will be led by Per Norrgren, from inMindSight in Portugal. Per has spent the past ten years practicing and teaching mindfulness in a variety of settings. Per is also a qualified yoga teacher. Per was the founding chairof the Friends of Bangor CMRP Alumni Group, mainting his links with the group with a focus on the newsletter and events organising.

The format will be a combination of Silent retreat, Yoga retreat and teaching:

We will have yoga / mindful movement in the morning and late afternoon each day.

After lunch on the non-silent days there is opportunity for mindfulness practice, sharing, group work, peer/buddy work and learning sets, all as per the requirements of the participants.

On the silent days there will be standard mindfulness practice of mixed sitting and walking practice, allowing time for connecting deeper with our practice.

Food Included in the retreat are:

Teas / Coffees will be available in the morning and throughout the day.

All food served is simple vegetarian, locally sourced and organic where possible. Allergies catered for if possible and noted in advance.

Booking Information

Location:

The venue is beautiful Casa Espiritualidade Paula Frassinetti (25mins from Porto airport). It is set in the town of Gaia which is on the south side of the river to Porto. The centre has the ability to host up to 16 guests in single room accommodation, so places are limited.

Most rooms have on-suite bathrooms and a few have bathrooms shared with one other bedroom in a duo-style configuration. *NOTE: The accommodation is on the first and second floor of the building and it does not have a lift. Thus, it is unsuitable for a person with limited mobility and difficulty with stairs.

Pricing:

The event is offered at a very affordable rate to make it accessible to as many people as possible. Teachers and organisers have their travel, food and lodging expenses paid for and only a very small amount for their teachings. Dana offering for the teachers are welcome.

The price for this retreat is fixed as far as possible with the very volatile exchange rate. It includes basic PRIVATE accommodation and simple vegetarian food.
